The Moya birch bark food containers by Anastasiya Koshcheeva are a mix of contemporary and traditional craft. i met anastasiya in 2016 and i was enchanted by her first products made out of birch bark.
with these food containers she kept an old siberian tradition alive. She is connecting the ancient Siberian handicraft from her homeland with clear contemporary design.

the bark is harvested once a year and is given a particular care to ensure that the inner layer of the bark is not damaged in the process, so the trees remain unharmed.
Naturally occurring substances in the bark ensure that the birch trees survive even the leanest nutrient conditions and the harshest weather and are fully renewable within 20–25 years.

therefor the food containers have versatile qualities such as durability, flexibility, tear strength, breathability, and are antibacterial.
